Magical Park Digital Playground

Magical Park turns a normal park into a digital playground that encourages kids and families to explore a virtual world. Visitors to the Mulberry Fields can download the free Magical Park app. Herd kittens, run away from the bad fairy, or come face to face with a giant T-Rex all while using a smart phone or tablet. The game encourages users to play, walk, run and be active in the great outdoors. Those with limitations to play can use the “easy play” feature and walk. In addition to the digital playground being open during normal park hours, the Parks Department will provide special activities and experiences during the three-month event to encourage kids and families to get out and play.

Tails on the Trails Dog Walking Spree

Here’s a chance for you and your dog to get out and explore the Zionsville Parks this fall. Registration for Tails on the Trails is free. Visit www.zionsville-in.gov/specialevents for more information and to register for the program. Join us for weekly dog walks, September 1 – October 31.

Saving Seeds from Your Garden

There are many reasons gardeners collect and save some of their garden seed for replanting - perhaps to save money or for the challenge and surprise! Some gardeners carefully save seed from a specific variety or a family heirloom that cannot be found in seed catalogs, others may save seed to promote native species. Seed saving is a fun family activity, and the seeds of many garden plants are easy to collect and save. Join us for an informative evening on the basics of seed saving, things to keep in mind when collecting, and how to save seeds to assure that they are viable the following year.
