Mayor Stehr announces new ways to do business with Town of Zionsville

To better serve neighbors, businesses, contractors and others doing business with the town, Mayor John Stehr announces a more efficient way to do business with the Town of Zionsville. A first-floor reception desk at Zionsville Town Hall will serve as the welcome and information area for guests. The Zionsville Police Department and Zionsville Fire Department headquarters will re-open for public services including permits, fingerprinting and more.

The new concept eliminates the Municipal Relations Center (MAC) and moves staff back to their designated department offices. The space that formerly housed the MAC will be used by the Town’s Permit and Planning Office. There will be no disruption of service as the changes are made and the Town of Zionsville does not anticipate the need to hire additional employees.

“After gathering data from people who do business with the town and our town staff, I believe there are more efficient ways to handle operations in Town Hall. That starts with a main welcome desk and with department liaisons moving back to their departments so we can reopen the Zionsville Police Department and Zionsville Fire Department for public services,” said Mayor Stehr.

In the future, more services and amenities will be added to streamline business at Town Hall. This includes a centrally located payment kiosk to help process payments more efficiently.

Beginning January 17, the Zionsville Police Department headquarters located at 1075 Parkway Drive will reopen to the public and police-related services will once again be conducted at that building. Services available at the ZPD headquarters include solicitor permits, golf cart permits, background checks and fingerprint services. Zionsville Fire Department headquarters remains inside Zionsville Town Hall and will also be open to the public.

Both Zionsville Town Hall and the Zionsville Police Department headquarters are open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. For general inquiries to the Town of Zionsville, constituents can visit Town Hall in person, call 317-873-5410 or visit Departments can also be reached directly via the Staff Directory at To submit a question to the Town of Zionsville or view frequently asked questions, visit Ask Zionsville at
