Residents invited to participate in Z’ Tree of the Year

Z Tree of the Year 2023

Did you get married under the shade of a large oak tree? Grow up watching the leaves change on a maple tree in your front yard? Zionsville residents are invited to submit their favorite tree in Zionsville for the second annual Z’ Tree of the Year, a contest sponsored by People of Zionsville for the Aesthetics of Zionsville (PZAZ).

The Z' Tree of the Year Contest is a celebration of the Town of Zionsville's Tree City designation. For 22 years in a row, Zionsville has been named a Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation in recognition of its ongoing community forestry program. The contest highlights the significance of trees in our natural spaces and the ecological and economic benefits to the community that trees provide.

Now through June 15, 2023, residents are invited to submit a photo of their favorite tree. Bonus points will be given if there is a unique story behind the tree. The tree can be on private or public property but must be located within the town limits of Zionsville.

The winner will be selected by PZAZ and honored with a plaque and a photo in Town Hall and an Earth and Turf gift card.

Residents can submit their entry, including a photo of the tree, here.
