[ARCHIVED] Rail Trail tree donation program launches

Rail Trail Donation Program

This fall, the Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a unique opportunity for individuals and businesses to donate trees to be planted along the Big-4 Rail Trail northern extension. The Department aims to plant a total of 68 trees to create a canopy on the northern extension of the Big-4 Rail Trail and to beautify and shade the trail for generations.

Currently under construction, the northern extension of the Rail Trail will connect the northern end of the Rail Trail at Heritage Trail Park to Whitestown.

Each donor’s name will be added to a group commemorative plaque that will be showcased on the Rail Trail. Trees are $600/each and will be planted as early as fall 2022.

There are only 68 spaces available for families, businesses or to honor the name of loved ones. Individuals and businesses can apply here
