[ARCHIVED] Gov. Holcomb to visit Zionsville for Big-4 Rail Trail ceremony and ribbon cutting

WHAT: 

Join Gov. Holcomb, Mayor Emily Styron, Mayor Jim Brainard, the Department of Natural Resources and the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) for a ceremony and ribbon-cutting event.

 

WHEN/WHERE:

Wednesday, June 1 at 2:30 p.m. 

 

10300 Lemberger Boulevard, Zionsville, IN 46077

(In the Vonterra subdivision off Zionsville Road)

 

Park off Lemberger Boulevard or in the parking lot off Godello Circle in Vonterra. Meet at the tent located off the paved trail that leads to the Big-4 Rail Trail. The location to enter the trail will be marked by signage.

 

WHY: 

The ceremony will recognize Gov. Holcomb as RTC’s most recent Doppelt Family Rail-Trail Champion. Gov. Holcomb is the first acting governor among 40 honorees and he is recognized for his leadership in accelerating trail development across the state, including his accomplishments in developing the Next Level Trails program. Following the ceremony, Gov. Holcomb will join Mayor Emily Styron for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open Zionsville’s southern Big-4 Rail Trail expansion, a project that was funded in part by a Next Level Trails grant.
