Yesterday the Board of Police Commissioners approved Chief Michael Spears’ recommendation to promote David Byrum and Elizabeth Frost to the rank of sergeant.
Sergeant David Byrum was appointed to the Zionsville Police Department on Dec. 29, 2014 and has served as a field patrol officer and a member of the honor guard. He will be assigned to the 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. B shift.
Sergeant Elizabeth Frost was appointed to the Zionsville Police Department on Oct. 24, 2004. She was promoted to detective in 2010. Sergeant Frost has served as a firearms instructor, a member of the honor guard and Boone-Hamilton County drug task force and was honored as officer of the year in 2019. She most recently served as Chief Spears’ executive officer. She will be assigned as a school resource officer.
“These police officers have accepted the challenges ahead of them in their new rank and positions. I have confidence they with succeed and serve with distinction,” said Chief Spears.
