Zionsville Fire Department News

The Zionsville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residence fire at 9643 Pine Ridge North Dr. which is located just north of US 421 and SR 32 in rural Zionsville. Zionsville Fire Department crews arrived to find a working fire at the residence. Neighbors reported that no one was home and they were able to open the door and let the cat out who was safe.
Zionsville Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire and remained on the scene for an hour and half looking for hot spots. There were no Firefighter or civilian injuries. The fire is under investigation and preliminary damage estimates have been set at $35,000.
Agencies assisting on the scene were Lebanon Fire Department, Whitestown Fire Department, and Boone County Sherriff’s Department. Westfield Fire Department provided fill in coverage at Zionsville Fire Station 92.

The Safety Board Meeting scheduled for June 7th, 2010 has been cancelled. The next regularly scheduled meeting is Tuesday July 6th, 2010 at 5:30pm.

Not a golfer? Join us at the 19th Hole After-Party tent from 5:30-10 pm to enjoy a steak & chicken dinner grilled onsite by Texas Roadhouse, dessert & cash bar ! There will be live music by John Stevens, Jr. along with games, prizes & more! Tickets for the 19th Hole After-Party are $15 each & are limited to the first 100 purchasers! Pre-sale tickets only.
Golf Information—Limited to 72 golfers per session:
Offering 2 separate sessions of 9 holes of golf:
2:00 pm Siren Scramble; Play team’s best ball! Registration will begin at 1:00 pm
4:00 pm Siren Scramble; Play team’s best ball! Registration will begin at 3:00 pm
Create your own foursome or we will randomly assign teams.
You may play in both sessions (For a fee of $80 which includes 2 dinners).
Each session is $40 per participant which includes golfing, cart, 1 ticket to the 19th Hole After-Party/Dinner, & custom goodie bag. Prizes will be awarded for Best & Worst Teams, longest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt, best usable homemade club, best team spirit and more!

On Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 2:30 pm to 10 pm. Zionsville Fire Department will host a Zionsville Public Safety Charity Softball Tournament in Lions Park at 115 S. Elm Street in Zionsville. Proceeds from this event will go to the Helping Hands Shelter for Women & Children to help defeat domestic violence.
Come join the fun! Sign up your team today! Team spots are on a first come, first serve basis. All team rosters, shirt sizes & entry fees of $150 are due by Wed, April 28th to ZFD Station 91 by 5 pm. The softball tournament will be a double elimination tournament with games being 4 innings or 1/2 hr time limit. Teams are responsible for supplying their own equipment such as mitts, bats, helmets, etc. In the spirit of charity, there will be some special options for players to participate in such as the Papa John's Line Drive - hit the pizza box bullseye & win a pizza, being able to purchase a limited number of home runs, and much more!
ZFD will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, chips, desserts & a drink for a donation of $5. Music from some of the area's best bands will be on stage live throughout the event. There will also be safety booths by ZFD & ZPD, along with members from the Boone County Helping Hands Shelter & members of the Indiana Coalition for Domestic Violence on site with information.

The Zionsville Fire Department is having a fundraising event at the Caribbean Cove indoor water park in the Holiday Inn at the Pyramids on Sunday May 16th from noon - 9pm. Wristbands are available for purchase at the Zionsville Fire Department Headquarters at 1100 W. Oak Street in Town Hall from 8-4 M-F & at Akard TrueValue Hardware at 25 Boone Village, Zionsville during reg. business hours. Proceeds from this event will benefit Relay for Life.

Governor Mitch Daniels has proclaimed March 14th through 20th, 2010 as Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana. The National Weather Service, in conjunction with the Indiana State Police and Public Safety Commission, Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Department of Education, the Indiana Broadcaster’s Association, the Red Cross, and Amateur Radio Operators will conduct a statewide test of communication systems on Wednesday, March 17 between 10:15 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. EDT and between 7:30 P.M. and 7:45 P.M. EDT. If weather postpones the tests, make-up tests are Thursday, March 18 at the same times listed.

The free H1N1 Vaccine Clinic scheduled for Tuesday February 9th at the Zionsville Town Hall has been cancelled by the Boone County Health Department due to the expected weather conditions.
