About Redistricting

The Zionsville Town Council is required to redistrict the Town's legislative body districts in the second year after a year in which a federal decennial census is conducted (Ind. Code 36-5-4-.1).

Schedule

November 29, 2022 by noon 

Last day for the public to submit written comments to the Town Council regarding the redistricting process. 

  • Submit written comments to the office of Municipal Relations Coordinator Amy Lacy at Zionsville Town Hall during regular business hours.

December 2, 2022 by noon 

Deadline for the public to submit plans.

  • For instructions on how to submit district plans to the Town Council, please view the Public Plan Submission Kit.
  • A draft of the Redistricting Plan will be available to the public at the office of Municipal Relations Coordinator Amy Lacy in Zionsville Town Hall.

December 7, 2022 at 7:30 a.m. 

Public hearing to review the draft plan and any public plans submitted to the Town Council.

  • Adopt on first reading an ordinance preliminarily approving a plan.
  • Written comments on any plan must be received by Municipal Relations Coordinator Amy Lacy by December 6 at noon.

December 19, 2022 at 8 a.m. (tentative)

Public meeting of the Town Council to make revisions to the plan and to adopt an ordinance approving the plan on final passage.

December 31, 2022

Deadline for final adoption of the ordinance.
