The Department of Planning & Economic Development, in association with a valid Improvement Location Permit, requires inspections of ongoing work and issues Certificates of Occupancy at the conclusion of each project.
UPDATE: December 12, 2022 Attention Builders and Residents:
Please be aware effective January 1, 2023, the Town of Zionsville Community and Economic Development (CED) department will be implementing a new inspection request process. All building permit inspections requested on or after January 1, 2023 shall be submitted via our new email inspection process. Copy and paste the following link into your address bar: email@example.com. Once an email has been submitted, a message will be returned to confirm the inspection request
Additionally, the cut-off time to schedule inspections will also be changing to 3pm the day before the requested inspection day (two-day call ahead will still be required for certain commercial inspections). Inspection times will continue to be determined by staff with the option to call and obtain the scheduled inspection time the day of the inspection. Please refer to the specific information below for inspection scheduling details.
Our current call in inspection process will continue to be an option through the expiration of any 2022 Improvement Location Permits (ILP’s). This option will be phased out of all new 2023 permits and will be available to any permit holders regardless of the year of their permit issuance.
We understand this will be an adjustment for all of us. There will be questions and as always, we are available at 317-873-8247 or at (copy and paste this address into your address bar) firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not send questions to the inspection email.
