Friday, October 12 - Mommy & Me: Leaves


Give your toddler a fun and interactive introduction to nature in our Mommy & Me classes! Each month we will focus on a different topic and will feature live animal encounters, stories, crafts and nature exploration. Due to school being in session, parking is not available at the Zion Nature Center. We will meet at the elementary school gates at 9:30 a.m. and walk to the Nature Center together.

Thursday, October 18 - Fall Flower Fairies

  • Registration Required
  • When: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street
  • Ages: 3 and up with an adult
  • Fee: $5/fairy

Fairies are beings that protect the earth: its plants, its animals, and its people. Join us for an afternoon of imagination as we explore the history and lives of fairies. You’ll be inspired to make your own flower fairy. Then we’ll end the program on a fairy friendly nature hike.

Saturday, October 20 - Tree Color Walk

  • When:1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street

Join us as we explore the forest in fall and discover some of the trees and leaves in the park. What colors and shapes can we find?

Friday, October 26 - Animal Adventures: Spiders

  • Register at www.zionsvillelibrary.org
  • When: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
  • Where: Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library and Zion Nature Center
  • Ages: 3 – 6 years with adult

Meet at the Library for story time fun. Afterwards, we will walk to the Zion Nature Center to explore creepy, crawly spiders.

Saturday, October 27 - Trick or Trees

  • Registration and wait list are full. We hope you join us next year!
  • When: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street

Join the Zion Nature Center for this family friendly Halloween event. Explore the forest in fall and collect treats along the way on our trick-or-treat trail. Come dressed in your favorite family friendly costume. Enjoy apple cider and roasting marshmallows by the campfire, fun fall activities, opportunities to meet some of the nature center animals, and more! Registration is CLOSED.

Tuesday, October 30 -  Halloween Dog Walk

  • When: 6:00 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center, 690 Beech Street

Dress yourself and your pooch up for this fun group dog walk through the Zion Nature Sanctuary. This walk also counts as a group walk for Tails on the Trails. Then enjoy a tasty treat, for both dogs and people, after our hike through the woods.
