Saturday, July 8 - Native Pollinators



  • Registration is required via email
  • When: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Zion Nature Center
  • Fee: $5/mason bee hotel
Explore the world of butterflies, bees and other native pollinators. We will discover simple ways to attract these beneficial insects to your backyard. Then make your own Mason Bee Hotel to take home. Registration is required as space is limited.

Friday, July 14 - Animal Adventures: Roly Polys

  • Ages: 3 years and up with an adult
  • Register at zionsvillelibrary.org
  • 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  • Where: Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library and Zion Nature Center
Naturalists from the Zion Nature Center will join Librarians as they share their knowledge about local animals through read-aloud stories, rhymes, and activities. Meet at the Library for storytime fun, and then walk to the Nature Center to meet and learn about the real animals that live there.


Saturday, July 22 - Starkey Park Project

  • When: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Where: Starkey Nature Park, 667 Sugarbush Dr.

Observations are being collected with iNaturalist throughout 2017 to help Zionsville Parks and Recreation have a better understanding of the species and habitats that thrive within Starkey Park. Bring your smart phone or camera and join Park Naturalist Mindy Murdock as she explores the seasonal changes in the park.
