Friday, March 16 - Mommy & Me: Frogs

Give your toddler a fun and interactive introduction to nature in our Mommy & Me classes! Each month we will focus on a different topic and will feature live animal encounters, stories, crafts and nature exploration. Due to school being in session, parking is not available at the Zion Nature Center. We will meet at the elementary school gates at 9:30 a.m. and walk to the Nature Center together.

Saturday, March 17 - The Mighty Mason Bee

Want to grow more fruit and berries this year? Invite super-pollinating mason bees into your yard and garden! Mason bees are native Indiana hole-nesting bees that don’t live in a hive and they don’t make honey, but they do make our food. They spend the winter hibernating in cocoons and they fly in the spring, so March is a great time to prepare a nesting box for them. Heather Harvey from Bees Gone Wild will show you everything you need to know to get started with these powerful pollinators. She will discuss the bees’ lifecycle, how to raise them, and how to provide them with nesting habitat.

Saturday, March 24 - Spring Dog Walk

It’s officially spring! Join us for our monthly dog walk as we explore the sights, sounds and smells of Elm Street Green and search for the first signs of spring.

Saturday, March 24 - A Home for Toad

Toad abodes are not only attractive additions to your garden; they also provide a safe home for toads. Learn why these bumpy amphibians are important in your backyard and discover what else you can do to make them feel welcome, as you decorate your own toad abode.
